Stormy Weather
As I kicked off my flip flops I took in a deep breath. It was a frail and humorous attempt at mentally preparing myself for what was about to happen. I took a small step forward, "It's better to just dive in and get it over with", I thought to myself. I wasn't convinced. The waves lapped at my bare feet and and the cool wind stung my eyes. I was on a mission.
Oh, and I wasn't alone. Kristy and John stood behind me, silently watching me in horror as I waded out into deeper waters.
"Surely you don't expect us to get in the water" Kristy asked uterly terrified.
But by then I was waist deep and couldn't decide whether I was getting use to the water or if my lower limbs had just gone numb. Either way I took another step forward and turned to the shore.
"iiittt'ss nnnoot tthatt bbadd", I chattered.
To this day I still can't believe those two followed me into the lake that cold stormy day. Thank you Kristy and John for embracing the vision and allowing me the opportunity to tell your love story the only way I know how. With fervor, with imagination, and with reckless abandon...
